Today's #3onatheme (+1) honors the Williams sisters, Wimbledon, and women in sports!

Game Changers by Lesa Cline-Ransome and James E. Ransome is my FAVORITE picture book biography of Venus and Serena. The writing! The illustrations! Game, set, match!

Epic Athletes: Serena Williams by Dan Wetzel. This new biography series is great for upper elementary (and even middle school) readers. Alex Morgan and Steph Curry round out the first three books in the series, with Lionel Messi, Lebron James, and Tom Brady coming this fall.

Sisters and Champions by Howard Bryant and Floyd Cooper is another good picture book biography on the sisters. Again, the illustrations!

(+1) Rising Above: Inspiring Women in Sports by Gregory Zuckerman. Including a profile on Serena Williams, this collected biography will be popular with any sports enthusiast from middle school on up.

If you're already missing World Cup action, build your stack this week with great soccer books for kids, tweens, and teens... including some US National Team stars (past and present)! #playlikeagirl

Shauna reinforces the idea that there are two types of students: those who like to read and those who haven't found the right book yet. She offers a plethora of resources and titles for both!
